Author Interview, Lisa's Personal Story
"Writing Give Your Dream A Heartbeat and Choose Joy Now! and "Happily Ever After" Isn't Just for For Fairy Tales has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It came about after a painful and difficult chapter in my life. Within a 10-month period, I lost my husband, my job, and my home; my beloved dog died, and I was in a car wreck which destroyed my car and resulted in months of physical therapy. This time of hardship began my journey of personal growth and self-discovery. When I think back to that challenging time, what I remember most is being desperate to feel joy again. I felt lonely, unloved, and painfully afraid. After a long journey of emotional healing, I finally felt joy again!
I now believe my tough times taught me valuable lessons and gave me opportunities to grow. As a result, I choose to feel gratitude for all my blessings, including difficult or challenging times. I've learned to turn lemons into lemonade.
I wrote my books with the intention of sharing with readers how I overcame the pain of my past to live a joyful life both personally and professionally. My books offer readers strategies, tools, and practices to find their own joy.
To me, living in joy means having peace about who I am and how I lead my life. It's feeling peaceful about my past, present, and future. My joy comes from feeling I'm on the right path to fulfill my purpose."

Lisa Miller is an author and pet lover. She is the author of the Pet Lovers Book Series, "Happily Ever After" Isn't Just For Fairy Tales, and Give Your Dream A Heartbeat and Choose Joy Now! Lisa has been recognized by the media such as Fox Good Day, Animal Planet, The Dallas Morning News, Denton Business & Community News, Texas Cable News, Petropolitan magazine (pet treat recipe column), and at major animal events, and book events.
